Odyssey is a comprehensive set of process management software. Odyssey includes all of the features needed for managing a public access computing system in a public library. These features comprise a complete software system. They are not delivered as separate pieces. Odyssey provides all of the process management functionality any public library is likely to require.

Every Odyssey system has exactly the same system and process management software. A particular feature may or may not be in use, or may be configured differently in one library than it is in another. Nevertheless, all libraries using Odyssey have all the features Odyssey provides. This design approach makes Odyssey a fully integrated system. Connecting new clients or kiosks to the system is as simple as plugging them into the network and entering their configuration information into a configuration table within the Odyssey database.
